French Drain Installation

A French drain is a common and effective solution for preventing water damage in basements or crawl spaces. It involves installing a perforated pipe surrounded by gravel to collect and redirect water away from your home’s foundation. This system helps manage excess groundwater and surface water, preventing it from seeping into your basement or crawl space, which can lead to structural damage, mold growth, and other moisture-related problems.
Are you noticing water pooling around the base of your home? If so, installing a French drain could be the solution you need to prevent water damage.
A French drain not only protects your house from flooding and mold growth in the basement or crawl space but also prevents foundation cracks that can lead to expensive repairs. With a French drain, you can have peace of mind, knowing your home is safe from the harmful effects of excess water.
Interior French drain systems direct water away from your home. The extra water will be directed to your septic tank, a sump pump or to a space in your yard that sits lower than your house.
A build up of water, creating hydrostatic pressure, is the number one cause for foundation issues. By redirecting water away from the foundation, a French drain helps to prevent significant soil changes around your home.
At Elite Moisture Solutions, we have a thorough installation process to ensure the efficiency and longevity of your French drain. We start with an evaluation of your property to determine the best location for the drain, then we carefully excavate the area and construct the drain using high-quality materials. With our French drain installation, you can rest easy knowing that water damage is a problem of the past.
A technician will dig a trench along the foundation wall that is having a drainage issue. The dimensions of the trench will vary based on the severity of the issue.
The technician will place the perforated pipe into the trench. The pipe should always be sloped from a higher starting point to a lower ending point that is away from the home’s foundation.
The technician will cover the pipe with gravel. The gravel is used to filter out any sediment and reduce the chance of the pipe clogging.
